Monday--NO SCHOOL--Labor Day

Tuesday:
  1. Read and Discuss Dave Barry's "Turkeys in the Kitchen"
    • Establish Rhetorical Triangle, SOAPS, EPL
  2. Read pp. 21-22 from Text
    • Discuss Visual Texts
    • Complete Activity p. 22 together
HOMEWORK:
Read Effective and Ineffective Rhetoric (pp.23-26)
  • annotate the reading
Complete activities p. 27 & 29
  • Have a typed response for each.
  • Be prepared to discuss each activity.

Wednesday:
  1. Discuss homework assignment
    • place activity responses in binder (Handouts section)
  2. Work in groups to complete culminating activity (pp. 30-35)
Thursday:
  1. Finish and present culminating activity
  2. Study the terms from the chapter (see pp. 36-38)
Friday:
Miss Durham, guidance counselor, will be in to talk to the Juniors regarding important things for this year.
