Film Lit Week of November 19, 2012

We will finish Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino. We will discuss stereotypes and the effect on film. We will also look at how Disney influences society through film.

English 11 Week of November 19, 2012

This week the students will begin working on an I-Search research paper. This will be an extensive project that will take us up to final exams. I will post the first part of the guidelines in the sidebar to the right.

Outline for I-Search:

Each component will have a deadline, which I will post here. The students will also be meeting with me to discuss each component of their I-Search paper.

Film Lit Week of Novewmber 5, 2012

We are continuing the teenage angst of the 80's by viewing Breakfast Club. After we finish the Breakfast Club, the students will complete a chart of the films. Then we will begin viewing Steel Magnolias and When Harry Met Sally.

APLAC Week of November 5, 2012

This week we our focus is on prepping for the multiple choice portion of the AP exam. The students have been looking at practice passages.

There will be a quiz on Tuesday over the chapters 1-2 vocabulary from the textbook.

The students will also apply rhetorical devices to song...project to be announced.

English 11 Week of November 5, 2012

We are finishing Of Mice and Men this week.

We will have a comprehension and vocab quiz over chapters 4-6 on Wednesday. The cumulative test over the book will be on Thursday/Friday of this week. We will begin viewing the film after the test.
