English 10R Week of March 19, 2012

We are currently studying Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Thematic focus is on gender roles. We will compare and contrast those roles in an essay response when we are finished reading the play.

  • Focusing question for Act IV: To what extent does Petruchio's plan work? Why does he use this plan to "tame" Kate? Are there other ideas you could think of that Petruchio could use?
