English 11 Week of March 12, 2012

We are currently studying Shakespeare's Macbeth.
  • This week, we will continue reading Act III. I am giving the students extensive notes as we read (kind of like Cliff's Notes, but I call them Shippie Notes.) ;-)
  • Act III
    • Read
    • Shippie Notes
    • Discuss
      • characters and how they are changing
      • themes of power, corruption, jealousy, greed
    • What can we learn from Macbeth? To what extent is our political society much like Scotland's society during Macbeth's time?
    • Complete response sheet and study guide for Act III
    • Quiz over Act III on Thursday or Friday
  • Begin Act IV after the quiz
